چکیده

In this work we consider bubbles that can form spontaneously when a two-dimensional (2D) crystal is transferred to substrate with gases or liquids trapped at the crystal–substrate interface. The underlying mechanics may be described by thin sheet on an adhesive fluid applying uniform transverse pressure. What makes apparently simple problem complex rich interplay among geometry, interface, elasticity and instability. Particularly, extensive small-scale experiments have shown 2D surrounding bubble adhere and, meanwhile, slide substrate. radially inward sliding causes hoop compression which exploit wrinkling instabilities relax partially compression. We present theoretical model understand behaviors of even linearly elastic due combination nonlinear adhesion, sliding, in systems. show understanding not only successfully predicts geometry spontaneous but also reveals strain-coupled physics crystals, e.g., pseudomagnetic fields graphene bubbles.
